Two alleged child sex offenders have been apprehended by police in Devizes.
Adam Hastings and Reece Upton are in custody after being arrested by officers near Lidl in the town at around 8pm this evening (Monday).
One suspect was located by firearms officers, and the second was sniffed out by police dog Ash hiding in a bush.
An eyewitness claims one of the suspects was tasered, as armed police, traffic officers and a dog unit swarmed the area.
It follows a 12 day search for the 28-year-olds from Newbury, who were wanted in connection with alleged sexual crimes against a teenage boy.
In a statement, a spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “Two men who were wanted in connection with sexual offences in Newbury have now been arrested in Devizes following a national appeal.
“The pair, both aged 28, had been sighted in Wiltshire since the appeal was launched by Thames Valley Police on 13 June. They are now in police custody.
“They were located following an extensive intelligence led search involving dog and drone units, with the help of the public.”
