Six men have been arrested after a ‘planned’ raid on a phone shop in Chippenham.
In a joint operation with the Metropolitan Police, officers were ready to pounce when a gang arrived to rob O2 in Borough Parade on Sunday afternoon (16 March).
As police swung into action and began to apprehended the suspects, two members of the public sustained minor injuries in the kerfuffle.
Six men were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery and were taken to Melksham custody for questioning.
The store, and part of Borough Parade, was cordoned off as a crime scene as forensic investigation work was carried out.
In a statement, a Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: “Wiltshire detectives have been working in collaboration with the Metropolitan Police Service in relation to this offence and previous similar offending across the south.
