UPDATE: Man fighting for life after smashing motorbike into car near Devizes
A biker has been airlifted to hospital following a serious crash near Devizes.
Emergency services were called to a road traffic collision on the A342 Andover Road, near Marden, at around 9.30am this morning (Thursday).
The incident involved a car and a motorcycle, with the biker seriously injured.
Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance landed nearby – before airlifting the injured person to Southmead Hospital in Bristol for urgent care.
The road is likely to remain closed for some time.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “The A342, Andover Road has been closed following a road traffic collision involving a motorcycle and a car.
“The road is closed between Wedhampton and Rushall while emergency services attend. Please avoid the area.”
