There are major railway delays after a person was struck by a train near Didcot.
Emergency services were called to the village of Appleford following the serious incident at around 5.30pm this afternoon (Monday).
The train line is blocked between Didcot and Oxford as a result – with the British Transport Police on scene.
In a statement, a spokesperson for GWR said: “Due to the emergency services dealing with an incident between Didcot Parkway and Oxford all lines are closed.
“Train services running through these stations will be delayed or revised. Disruption is expected until 19:30 07/04.
“As an alternative GWR ticket holders may use Chiltern Railways services between London Marylebone and Oxford in both directions.
“GWR ticket holders will also be passed on TfL Underground services between Paddington and Marylebone.
“Very limited road transport is available to cover stations devoid of train services.
“Should it assist with individual journey needs GWR ticket are also being accepted on First bus route X50 Worcester – Pershore – Evesham.
“Please accept our apologies for this and any inconvenience this incident may cause.”
