Police officers have tackled a raging car blaze using only fire extinguishers.
Emergency services responded to reports of the vehicle fire in Dyer Street, Cirencester, at around 1.30pm on Wednesday (16 April).
When local officers arrived at the scene, the classic BMW E36 was well alight.
They immediately began to battle the fireball using their fire extinguishers – as local business people rushed to provide even more.
In total, around 18 fire extinguishers were used to bring the flames under control. A fire crew arrived a short time later to fully extinguish it.
A spokesperson for Gloucestershire Constabulary said that their officers “tried to stop the fire from causing damage to nearby buildings and other vehicles”.
The force confirmed that nobody was injured during the incident.
