Two suspected drug dealers have been arrested after a police pursuit which ended in a crash outside the Great Western Hospital in Swindon.
Roads policing officers PC Webster and PC Harding attempted to stop a silver Mercedes A200 AMG on the M4 at around 5.30pm on Thursday (17 April).
The driver failed to stop for police, leading them on a 8.5-mile chase into Swindon, along Marlborough Road and into the hospital car park.
The vehicle came to a stop when it collided with a bush outside the main entrance – with three occupants fleeing the scene on foot.
“Three men from London decamped, two of whom were captured within a few minutes thanks to some good teamworking between Roads Policing and Swindon Response”, a Wiltshire Police spokesperson said.
Adding: “There were no injuries and six kilos of cannabis was subsequently recovered from the boot of the car.
“Two men, aged 21 and 18, were arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop for police, and possession with intent to supply a Class B drug.
“They have been bailed while enquiries continue.”
