An air ambulance was tasked after a woman crashed an illegal bike in Swindon.
The electric bicycle ploughed into a Royal Mail van in Truscott Avenue, Redhouse, shortly before 1pm on Thursday afternoon (6 February).
The rider, a woman, sustained serious injuries – sparking the deployment of critical care medics from Great Western Air Ambulance, which landed in a field nearby.
She was rushed to Great Western Hospital for treatment by land ambulance. It’s understood her injuries weren’t as severe as first thought.
The electric bicycle was seized as the rider was using it otherwise in accordance with a licence and without insurance.
No arrests have been made.
