BREAKING: Car smashes through bridge barriers and lands on path below

A car has smashed through a Devizes bridge’s safety barriers landed on the path below.

Emergency services were called to A361 at the bottom of Caen Hill after the serious road traffic collision which happened In the early hours if this morning.

The car is understood to have missed the canal that runs under Prison Bridge by just metres, after flying through the air and landing on the path beside it.

Social media reports say four people were in the vehicle at the time, but their conditions are unknown. Wiltshire Air Ambulance critical care medics also attended the incident.

The road remained closed until 7am.

We’ve approached Wiltshire Police and South Western Ambulance Service for comment.
