A disqualified driver has admitted a dramatic drink-drive crash in Chippenham.
Courtney Reid flipped an orange Hyundai i20 on an A350 roundabout on Saturday evening (22 February) – narrowly avoiding other vehicles and demolishing a lamppost.
The same car was involved in an alcohol-fuelled smash back in 2020 – when Lisa Etherington ploughed it into a vehicle and then a bollard in Bradford on Avon.
Lisa was reportedly a passenger in the i20 when the recent crash occurred – but she managed to climb out of the wreckage unharmed, before being checked over by paramedics at the scene.
The 37-year-old, of Nine Acre Drive, Corsham, pleaded guilty to drink driving, driving while disqualified and driving without insurance at Swindon Magistrates’ Court this morning (Monday).
The case was adjourned for a pre-sentence report and the defendant was released on bail. He’s due to return for sentencing on 21 March.
