Four men have been arrested after they were found ‘working illegally’ at a car wash.
Police, and officers from the Home Office Immigration Enforcement unit, attended three car washes in south Wiltshire yesterday (Wednesday, 19 March).
At Ludgershall Hand Car Wash, four men were arrested on suspicion of having no right to work in the UK.
It’s believed the suspects were immigrants or asylum seekers who do not have permission to undertake paid employment while in the country.
In a statement, a spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “Three car washes were visited in the operation which was supported by Health and Safety and Environment Officers, and a Housing Conditions Officer in response to concerns from local residents and recent information on the properties and individuals involved.
“Any welfare concerns were raised with the appropriate agencies and safeguarding put in place.
