A gang have attacked a man in the bedroom of his Corsham home before stealing his car – and dumping it in a field in Chippenham.
Police are investigating a violent burglary in Northcroft Road, which happened between 12.30am and 1am this morning (Sunday).
The male occupant was woken up by five masked men in his room – who physically assaulted him, before his car keys and other personal items were stolen.
The victim managed to escape before the suspects left in his stolen vehicle, a 2019 black Mercedes CLA.

It is believed some of the got into a vehicle that had been parked up nearby waiting, described as a dark vehicle, possibly a Qashqai.
The now-damaged Mercedes was found by local residents abandoned in a field between Fairfoot Close and Hungerdown Lane at around 9am.
“Officers believe this was a targeted incident and are carrying out house-to-house and CCTV enquiries”, a spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said.
