A kitten and a tortoise have been killed in a house fire in Calne – as a man suffered burns.
The occupant managed to rescue three dogs as the raging blaze took hold in Bryans Close Road at around 8.40pm last night (Sunday, 9 February).
Despite running into the burning building multiple times to bring his pets to safety, he was unable to save a kitten and tortoise.

His heroic actions resulted in burns to his face and back, and suffered some singed hair. The injuries aren’t believed to be life-changing or life-threatening.
The house sustained significant damage, and the occupants lost the majority of their possessions.
