A major Swindon route is closed in rush-hour after a water main burst.
Swindon Borough Council confirmed that Mead Way is shut this morning (Thursday), and asked motorists to “avoid the area where possible”.
It’s understood the road is closed between Whitehall Way and Mead Roundabout – and is likely to remain inaccessible for most of the day.
A spokesperson for Westlea Fire Station added: “Mead Way has been closed due to flooding caused by a burst water main.
“Please avoid the area where possible. This has been reported, local homes may experience a loss of water supply.”
