A man’s been arrested after police responded to reports of indecent exposures in Swindon.

At around 5.30pm this afternoon, police received reports that a man had been seen to expose himself and masturbate in public in the Lakeside area in Lawn, as well as the Coate Water area.

Members of the public who witnessed the incidents reported them to police immediately and gave detailed descriptions of the man as well as his direction of travel. Officers then attended the area and located a man matching the descriptions given.

A man in his 60s was arrested on suspicion of indecent exposure and has been taken to Gablecross custody for further questioning.

Insp Louis McCoy said: “This type of behaviour is completely unacceptable and can cause members of the public to feel frightened and extremely uncomfortable.

“Thanks to the members of the public who reported their concerns and gave detailed descriptions of the suspect, officers were able to quickly attend the scene and conduct an area search which led to one man being arrested.”
