A man has been charged with four crimes after a teen girl was hit by a van in Westbury.
Emergency services were called to reports of a crash involving a pedestrian in Meadow Lane at around 5.45pm last Thursday (13 March).
A van was involved in a collision with a 14-year-old girl close to Westbury Fire Station.
She sustained injuries which are not described as life-threatening, and was conveyed to the Royal United Hospital in Bath for treatment.
The driver of the van was arrested in connection with the incident.
In a post on social media, the victim’s father said that it’s “a miracle she wasn’t killed given the impact”.
John Thompson, of Norden, Bradford on Avon, has since been charged with driving without due care and attention.
The 45-year-old is also accused of failing to provide a specimen for analysis, using a motor vehicle without a valid test certificate and outraging public decency.
He has been released on bail to appear at Salisbury Magistrates’ Court on 6 June.
