A manhunt is underway for a driver after two people were ‘mowed down’ in an ‘attack’ in Salisbury.
The pair left with serious injuries after being hit by a blue Ford Focus in South Western Road shortly after 12pm today (Thursday).
Detectives investigating the incident believe 22-year-old Braden Lynam was driving the car – which was found dumped in Lower Road.
In a public appeal, Wiltshire Police appealed for anyone with information on the suspect’s whereabouts to call 999 quoting log 127 of today’s date (27 March).
Detective Inspector Eirin Martin said: “This is a serious incident which has resulted in two people needing hospital treatment after suffering potentially life-changing injuries.
“We believe this was a targeted attack and the victims are known to the driver.
“There is no wider risk to the public.
“A cordon is in place at the scene of the incident in South Western Road and I would like to thank the public for their patience while this matter is dealt with.”
Further details about the casualties are unknown at this stage. A full-scale forensic collision investigation is underway at the scene.
