‘No further action’ is being taken after a near-fatal crash in Wiltshire last year.
A woman aged in her 20s sustained life-threatening injuries when her car hit a tree on the A3098 near Dilton Marsh in March 2024.
Emergency services attended the incident, and spent around two hours working to extricate the casualty from the wreckage.
Once stable, she was flown to Southmead Hospital by Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.
The woman, who had significant leg and internal injuries, spent two months in intensive care. She has since been released from hospital.
Wiltshire Police launched a full-scale forensic collision investigation at the scene.
The black SEAT Ibiza left the carriageway and hit a tree on a bend close to Hisomley crossroads. There was only one occupant, the driver.
A spokesperson for the force confirmed that an investigation into the serious smash was “closed with no further action”.
