Community support officers in Swindon are begging residents to make a “conscious effort” to abide by social distancing rule after witnessing people ignoring them while shopping.

In a ‘funny’ video with squeaky voices and massive eyes, PCSOs Lee Hare and Kate Jackson brought locals an update while on cycle patrol in the Orbital Shopping Centre at around 9am this morning.

Lee said: “Please please make a conscious effort to keep the social distancing of two metres.

“Lots of people are ignoring it, please just make an extra effort to stay away from people.”

The pair will continue their cycle patrol in North Swindon through most of today.
