A Swindon man has admitted making threats to rape a woman and stab two people.
Richard Yates, 30, pleaded guilty to three offences under the new Online Safety Act 2023.
Swindon Magistrates’ Court heard yesterday (23 April) that the defendant, of Bath Road, sent messages to three people threatening serious harm.
On 10 July 2024, he threatened to stab a man. A month later, on 14 August 2024, he threatened to stab woman.
Then, on 23 December 2024, he threatened to rape a woman.
The case was adjourned so a pre-sentence report could be prepared.
Yates is due to be sentneced at the same court on 15 May. He was released on unconditional bail.
