A teenage boy was detained for assaulting a girl amid a dog attack in Swindon.
Officers were watching over the crime scene in Exeter Street when the incident happened on Sunday (27 April) – just an hour after an XL Bully left a man with life-changing injuries.
Two teenagers – one male and one female – were walking along the pavement when the girl jokingly tripped up the boy by kicking his trainer.
The boy, speaking to the officer, threatened to hit the girl. He was told not to, but proceeded to punch her in the upper arm with some force.
The officer then detained the boy, putting him in handcuffs and placing him into a police car.
It’s understood the victim did not wish to support a prosecution, and the boy was taken home to his parents – and must complete a community resolution.
A group of youths were eventually moved on by officers, after opening the car door and encouraging the boy to exit the police vehicle.
