Two air ambulances landed for a serious crash on the A360 in Wiltshire this morning (Saturday).
Emergency services were called to a single-vehicle road traffic collision at Gore Cross, between West Lavington and Tilshead, at around 1.30am.
A black MG HS left the carriageway – flying into the air before flipping multiple times. The vehicle sustained significant front and rear-end damage.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance (HIOWAA) and Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance attended the incident, provided urgent care to a man and woman — both aged in their 20s.
One person was airlifted to Southampton General Hospital’s Major Trauma Centre by HIOWAA. They sustained serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. The other was taken by land ambulance.
A pushchair could be seen next to the wreckage and what appears to be a child’s scooter was hanging from the boot area. However, no children were in the vehicle at the time.
Debris could be seen scattered across the road and along both verges.
The road was closed in both directions while 999 crews attended, reopening at around 8am.
In a statement, a spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “We responded to reports of a road traffic collision on the A360, Tilshead around 1am this morning.
“Two people, both aged in their 20s, were taken to hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.”
