A woman has been arrested after two dog attacks in Swindon – with a cat killed, two dogs injured and a person wounded.

The 33-year-old is currently being questioned in custody, where she’s been held on suspicion of having a dog dangerously out of control causing injury.

Officers made the arrest after issuing a public appeal on social media on Tuesday (6 May).

It comes after a cat was fatally wounded by a dog on 3 May, and two dogs and a person were attacked by a dog in Moredon on 11 April.

“A 33-year-old woman has today (08/05) been arrested on suspicion of having a dog dangerously out of control under section 3 of the Dangerous Dogs Act”, a Wiltshire Police spokesman said.

Adding: “She is currently in custody for questioning.”

The force confirmed that the dog believed to be involved in the incidents has been seized.

PC Sam Young of the Swindon Local Policing Tasking Team said: “We appreciate the significant amount of public concern around this dog following multiple incidents, and I can confirm it has been seized.

“I’d also like to thank all the people who called in to identify the suspect following a public appeal on our social media, which has today led to the suspect being arrested.

“She will now be questioned in connection with the incidents.”
